VL53L9 Direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) LiDAR Module

STMicroelectronics VL53L9 Direct Time-of-Flight (dToF) 3D Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) Module features true all-in-one, easily integrated modules with up to 2.3k zones, ideal for smartphone camera assist and augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) applications. The VL53L9 contains a single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) array, a post-processing SoC, two vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs), physical infrared filters, metasurface optical elements (MOEs), and an embedded PMIC. The module provides accurate ranging from <5cm to 10m and streams a post-processed 2D IR image at a maximum frame rate of 60Hz. Using the MOE above the VCSELs allows users to project an optimized rectangular field-of-view (FOV) onto the scene. The STMicroelectronics VL53L9 dToF 3D LiDAR Module achieves improved ranging performance with various cover glass materials and offers multizone distance measurements up to 54 x 42 zones with a wide FOV.
